| Nightwatch | An organization
created by the Ministry of Peace
to maintain peace and to boost the morale among Earthforce personnel. In 2259
Nightwatch promised 50 credits a week to Earth Force
officers for joining the organization, wearing an armband
and reporting any un-patriotic activity. However, as time
went by, reporting possible traitors became more and more
important part of Nightwatch's agenda. In 2260 Nightwatch
personnel were authorised to monitor all communications
and even look into the personal backgrounds of non-nightwatch
officers (and even civilians). When Earth was put under
Martial Law later that year, all security outside Earth
was transferred to the Nightwatch. Although places like
Babylon 5 refused to be controlled by Nightwatch and
deported all its members, the orgazation remained alive
right until to the end of the Earth Civil War and the
suicide of President Clark.

| Psi Corps |
The organization
for human telepaths and telekinetics. Psi Corps was
created to protect not only non-telepaths from telepaths,
but also other way around. Psi Corps was founded in 2161
and until mid-2260's all telepaths were forced to either
join the Corps, take sleeper drugs
or go to prison. Random testings were conducted (in
schools for example) to find people who were trying to
avoid joining. Psi Corps took care of its members and
provided them with the training they needed to fully
understand and master their skills. The Corps also made
sure that the telepaths did not misuse their gift in, for
example, gambling or by performing illegal scans. It also
required all telepaths to wear gloves in public so as to
avoid making unintentional scans. The Psi Corps was abolished in mid 2260's after the unfortunate Telepath Crisis. Within Psi Corps telepaths were ranked on the P-scale by their abilities. For example, an average Psi Cop was a P12 and a commercial telepath usually a P5, wheras P1 was only able to sense feelings, not actually read minds. |
